6 – Our final week of Crowdfunding
We are heading into the last week of our crowdfunding campaign, and we’ve still got a lot of ground to cover.
The last four weeks have been so unlike anything we’ve experienced during our previous startup experience, so we thought we’d give an update on how things are going, how we feel, and what our outlook is.
First off, if you’re new to all of this, let us start by just explaining that at the beginning of December, we launched our crowdfunding campaign with the goal of raising 12.500 Eur, which will be used as loan-collateral so that we can build a new farm.
Wait… what the heck is CrowdFunding?
Crowdfunding is a way that we can approach our community for financial support in reaching our goals. We can’t fund it alone, so we ask for your help.
And how does it work exactly?
If the required 12,500 Eur or more is raised by January 9th, 2022 by 23:59, we are successful! Only then will we receive your financial contributions that you have made to the campaign. No money is collected if we don’t reach 12.500 Euros.
If we hit our goal, we will then be able to get a loan from the NRW Bank for 50.000 Eur.
People can choose to support us through a free-amount, or purchase a “Thank You” which is essentially a pre-order for many of our products that we offer. You can pre-order mushrooms, find cool merchandise, or even get your hands on our new home grow-kits.
We are also giving away as a prize to one of our supporters, 1-year of free mushrooms!
(If you have any questions email us or comment – we will also be having a live-stream event Thursday Jan. 6 where we can answer any questions or concerns you may have)
How is it going so far?
So far at the time of writing this, we have raised 9.344 Eur. from 111 different supporters!! We are incredibly grateful that we have such an amazing group of people standing behind us. You are our inspiration to keep going!
How do we feel?
Motivated, united, and… tired!
We’ve had some absolutely wonderful conversations with people during the last weeks! After shutting down Pilzling 1.0, it meant that we were finally ready to take the next step. We are ready to expand our mushroom production and keep making contributions to urban sustainability.
This campaign has made us really come together to try and realize our dreams collectively. It has therefore made our team stronger than ever. That being said, it’s been a lot of work (and a different type of work than mixing mushroom substrate!). We have spent a lot of time on social media, which is actually a new thing for us. We would be lying if we said we weren’t looking forward to this campaign to be over!
Outlook for the last week:
No matter what happens, whether we reach our 12.500 goal or not, we will feel proud of what we accomplished. We feel privileged that we got to reach so many people with our ideas, and we even had two people join our VIP club!
3.828 Euros is still a lot of money to raise. We raised that amount in the first week, however, the contributions have definitely started to plateau over the Christmas holidays.
We are optimistic that the goal is still feasible, but if you’d like to see us keep going, we will need all the help we can get!
Well firstly, we are really excited to talk with you all Thursday on our livestream event. We will be there to answer any questions and give one final update to the campaign.
But after the campaign… well, if we hit our goal, it’s time to start building Pilzling 2.0!!! If we don’t, we have a lot of things to think about, and maybe we need to reevaluate some of our plans.
Stay tuned for the last 7 days to see if we hit our goal or not! We are almost there, but will need your help to reach it. Tell your friends and family, share our campaign or blog posts, and if you are able to, purchase something from our StartNext site 🙂
See you all on Thursday!
